Josh began a career in the fire industry in 2007, after attending the Fire Academy in Hamilton, Ohio.  After graduating with a Fire Fighter I and Fire Fighter II designation, he began gaining more specialized training and experience, where his path to fire investigation was launched.

In 2008, while attending Eastern Kentucky University, Josh began an internship with Jack Ward Fire Consultants as an evidence/field technician. As a component of this internship, he was tasked with the primary responsibility of assisting in the collection of evidence from loss sites as well as the management of all evidence storage facilities. Josh continued to gain knowledge and experience, as he worked fire and explosion scenes alongside seasoned investigators. In 2011, after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Fire Science Engineering, he acquired his designation as a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator and a Certified Fire Investigation Technician.

In 2013, after working with certified fire investigators on hundreds of fire and explosion scene investigations, Josh was promoted to fire consultant, conducting fire origin and cause investigations throughout the United States. Through demonstrated experience and education he tested and attained his Certified Fire Investigator designation through the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI-CFI)

Ten years later, in 2023, Josh was recognized for his expertise in the field and promoted to the position of Field Operations Manager and Senior Fire Consultant, supervising a team of specialized fire consultants conducting fire and explosion investigations across the United States and abroad. Josh serves on the Board of Directors for the Florida Advisory Committee on Arson Prevention (FACAP) and gives back to the industry of fire investigation by teaching at seminars and mentoring up and coming fire investigators.
