We are pleased to announce that Roger Dennis has joined our Special Investigations Unit.

Roger began his career in public service as a Law Enforcement Officer in 1977, serving over 17 years as a patrol officer, K-9 handler/trainer, field training officer and property crimes detective. He received numerous awards and letters of recognition for his work and dedication from his agencies as well as from outside organizations.

He changed his career in 1994 when he became a property field claims representative with State Farm Insurance.  After a few years he was selected to become a special investigator based on his claims and law enforcement knowledge and experience. He was instrumental in developing the “SIU Central” operation that worked side by side with the inside claims adjuster creating a closer working relationship with adjusters. This operation also allowed SIU investigators to be directly available to adjusters at all times, thus being more successful in identifying claims that may contain elements of fraud and which needed further investigation.

During his time in SIU he investigated a wide range of claims both on the property and casualty side, but also auto theft and arson cases. Later he served in other SIU related roles and also as a claims manager overseeing an inside claims staff. He has over 20 years of claims and investigative experience and holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminology from St. Leo College (University). Roger developed a successful working relationship with many of the leading insurance defense attorneys in Florida and the southeast resulting in the successful resolution of many claims.

Roger has been active in organizations such as the Florida Advisory Committee on Arson Prevention since 1997 where he has held the position of membership chairman for much of that time. He has also been a volunteer and attended numerous Florida Insurance Fraud Education Committee annual seminars.
